                                          After I discovered that I had been born with mild cerebral palsy at 10 years old (it affects my left arm and leg), I became involved with track & field and cross-country as my primary form of physical therapy. I ran throughout high school and college, and while core and strength training were always a part of our workouts, I was intimidated by the weight routines and didn’t take advantage of them as I should. Then, several years ago, I noticed some unwanted changes in my physique. I joined Weight Watchers and another local gym, although I never participated in group fitness, preferring to stick with the familiar treadmill. I reached my goal weight in time, but then due to work and family obligations, I allowed my health to take a backseat. As expected, all the weight (plus a little more!) returned.
                                          Last year I finally had enough and was on the hunt for another gym. I checked out Fitness Connexion and I’m so glad I did! I took advantage of a Seize The Deal promotion and then joined the gym last March. Even though I was once again intimidated by all the weight machines and the emphasis on group fitness, I decided to try something different and gave several classes a chance. Surprisingly, I found that I really enjoyed Group Power and Group Ride and have made them staples of my fitness program. Now, not only am I in some of the best shape of my life (and that’s including those periods when I was training for one of my nine marathons), but I have also reached my goal weight, loosing almost 25 pounds! But I think the biggest dividend I’ve received is the discernable muscle tone and definition I see in my left arm. You see, I’ve never experienced that in my life and never thought I would.

                                          And while I may never achieve perfect Power form, as my muscles develop, I see that form improving, and it makes me feel so good! I am so grateful for FC!

                                          What got me here isn’t what keeps me here. I joined Fitness Connexion a year before I turned 50. I wanted to make sure when I turned 50 I was feeling good about myself. I wanted to be in shape and handle my stress better.

                                          I started slow. My first class was Power. The instructors were great! They encouraged me to try some of the other classes.
                                          Just give it a try – what can it hurt? I tried a number of them and I’m so glad I did! I’ve found that a mix of classes really help me from getting bored. It also works my body in different ways. My favorite classes include Ride, Power and Centergy.

                                          However, the team at Fitness Connexion continues to push you (in a great way!) to keep trying different classes, utilize the equipment for your own routine or work with a personal trainer.

                                          I’ve shared what got me here – the variety in classes, working to get in shape and handle stress. What keeps me here are the friendships, the positive environment, how everyone helps to motivate each other, and the great team at Fitness Connexion.  Also, we laugh! There’s lots of laughter and who doesn’t need or want that in their life!

                                          Hi, my name is Candi and I am a RIDER! Before I started taking RIDE classes, I had been experiencing a lot of soreness in my knees from walking and especially after playing tennis.It had been recommended to me that Ride would be a great exercise focused on strengthening the muscles surrounding my knees and thus easing my soreness.I was skeptical at first, but I tried it and to my surprise IT WORKED!I can honestly tell you all that from my first RIDE I have never experienced ‘sore knees’ in fact, RIDE classes have not only strengthened my knees and cardio, but has improved my tennis game too!I absolutely love RIDE!But, best of all, I love all my RIDE girlfriends who keep me motivated and inspired!

                                          After having been a member of another club since it opened, I was devastated when it abruptly closed.  Then, the dark cloud that had been hanging over my head disappeared when Eren & Dafne had the determination to open Fitness Connexion! It is a serious gym with all the machines, trainers & grueling classes of a top-notch facility.  What makes it stand out from any other gym in town is the genuine warmth of its owners, employees & members.  It doesn’t matter what a person’s fitness level, age or weight is.  The encouragement & friendliness of everyone makes Fitness Connexion a great place to be.  I feel like I’m with really good friends (even though we may not know each other’s last names!) every time I work out.

                                          I love Fitness Connexion! I love starting my day by exercising there & the friends I have made.
                                          I became a member of Fitness Connexion as soon as Dafne and Eren opened for business. They gave us our gym back and I will always be grateful to them for putting this gym back together again.
                                          I have tried many of the classes at FC but there are two classes that I am very faithful to... RIDE & POWER! You will find me in Ride class at 5:30 am each Monday and Wednesday morning and Power class at 5:30 am on Tuesday and Thursday morning. Ride is a class that gets my blood pumping on the very first song! Sometimes you will hear me say "So that was the warm up? I'm sweating already!" It is a great class to burn the calories and get my legs in shape.

                                          My legs are stronger now than they have ever been in my whole life. I am 57 years old and proud to say my age out loud! On June 4th I walked 26.2 miles and on June 5th I walked another 13.1 miles in the Chicago Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I can honestly say that Ride got my legs in the shape I needed to be able to walk all of those miles. I finished that marathon and a half with no aches or pains. What a great feeling and accomplishment that was for me and says a great deal about Ride and what it has done for my legs!

                                          POWER is awesome for my upper body and arms. I used to feel like such a weakling but now I see real definition in my arm muscles and love how I look in sleeveless tops for summer. I used to think that when you got to be "my age" that arms should be covered but I don't feel that way after what POWER has done for me. The instructors are great at telling you if you should increase or decrease the weight factor. They tell you that if something doesn't work for you that there are other options and are always willing to take questions after class.
                                          The instructors are great people who care about each of us and give us the encouragement we need to accomplish our goals. By exercising in groups, with your friends and the music, the time goes by so fast. I always feel like I have given myself a perfect start to the day! I love Fitness Connexion!
